Today, more families face profound and unexpected
changes which frequently result in crisis and
unplanned transitions. Some of the most common and
challenging transitions which affect a family are
caused by separation and divorce.

For the children of these families, the prospect of
divorce can produce a variety of fears.
These fears may include: the divorce is their fault, they
will lose both parents, their parents won’t
reconcile or remarry, they will lose friends or their
parents won’t love them anymore.
